Visual Arts at Figtree High School
At Figtree High School, Visual Arts offers students a dynamic and creative environment where they can explore a wide range of art forms, including painting, drawing, digital media, printmaking, ceramics, fibre, photography, sculpture, and 3D forms. Our program encourages students to express their ideas, experiment with different materials and techniques, and develop their own artistic voice.
The Visual Arts 7–10 Syllabus builds on the foundational knowledge and skills introduced in the Creative Arts K–6 Syllabus. Throughout each stage of learning, students engage in Art making and Art critical and historical studies, which work together to deepen their understanding of Artworld concepts, Viewpoints, and Practice. These components are integrated across all learning experiences, allowing students to meaningfully connect theory with their own creative practice.
Visual Arts at Figtree High is not just about creating artworks — it’s about developing a deeper appreciation of visual culture, enhancing problem-solving skills, and fostering a lifelong engagement with the arts.
