The CAPA Committee is an excellent platform for students who are passionate about the arts to lead, collaborate, and contribute to a thriving creative culture at Figtree High School. Students involved in the CAPA Committee take an active role in a range of initiatives, including:
Event Planning and Coordination:
Students assist in planning major school arts events such as the Golden Figs Showcase Night, school assemblies, and exhibitions such as Every Artist Was First an Amateur. They are involved in event set-up, promotion, and management.
Exhibitions and Displays:
Committee members curate and organise displays of student artwork around the school, helping to celebrate and promote the achievements of Visual Arts, Photography, Music, Dance, and Drama students.
Publicity and Promotion:
Students create promotional materials, such as posters, newsletters, and social media content, to advertise upcoming arts events and showcase student work to the broader school community.
Student Leadership and Mentorship:
Senior CAPA Committee members mentor younger students interested in the arts, encouraging participation and supporting skill development across different disciplines.
Community and Regional Engagement:
The Committee helps represent Figtree High School at local arts initiatives and regional exhibitions, strengthening links between the school and the broader creative community.
